An interesting feature and that few people know the Flash Player or Adobe AIR, is that in addition to access features like the webcam user, it can also detect whether there is movement in the camera. This can be useful if you're implementing a system to stream live and want to save the bandwidth used. For example, the stream will only be published if you have any camera motion.

The bones allow the handling of complex and natural way possible to create character animation, such as arms, legs and facial expressions much more easily, the simplest image illustrates this is the movement of a lever. Anyone who has worked with 3D modeling software such as 3D Studio MAX already familiar with this technique. From Adobe Flash CS4, we have the opportunity to work with inverse kinematics in Flash IDE itself and a library in ActionScript 3.0.

  • Create a new file type ActionScript 3.0

Needed to implement a feature that in a AdvancedDataGrid hours ordering the data by the first letter or not. First time I thought it was very difficult as I had done something similar in another project where it should split by examples hours the servers, time servers of the instances.

Flash Camp Brasil - I've been there!!!


The event was unprecedented in Brazil, the Flash Camp Brasil, occurred in the last days 15 and 16 in Maceió, Brazil.
To begin with, was an adventure can go to the event, with tickets and expensive hotel crowded, but it is something that would not miss for the world.
I was staying in a hostel and lucky for me, on the morning of day 15, shared a post from the street, and my notebook with a damaged battery, I decided to go to the hotel of the event to familiarize myself with the way.
The path to the hostel to the hotel was closer than imagined, having only to wait anxiously for 7 hours until the event start.
While waiting and sitting on the couch with a provision making(ufa!!!), reunion the Gabriela Zaninetti, Marketing Manager of Adobe Systems Brasil, soon after going to the place of lecture and mini-courses, met Demian Borba was already in full swing in the last preparations for the event and introduced me to Filipe Cunha of Globo.com, sorry that did not to attend the mini-course it. Who was it was also Pedro Taranto(we almost ran into the airport).
Shortly after the Gabi introduced me to Fabricio Manzi, guy who knew the years and only in the event I can finally meet you in person. Then I had the opportunity to meet Tiago Venegas, with whom he later exchanged ideas on Flash Media Server, Cássio Souza, Technical Director Gringo and Diego of COC, after some talk time, arrivesIgor Costa, another so that the web and knew I had the opportunity to meet personally, I played a little Mortal Kombat vs DC Comics and took a beating by Neto Leal.
A few minutes before the event, entering the auditorium, reunion the Lee with whom I had a quick conversation about our trips were.
In between I had the opportunity to meet Beck Novaes, in which I showed a bit of a speech that would do the next day. At the end of the event, I know Bruno Ribeiro who told me about the project that won the mini ignite.

About the sessions
First day
Well, full auditorium, all fully prepared and Demian opened the event with an exciting presentation on EFM and how did your dream to make a Flash Camp in Brazil.

Joshua Hirsch Minister of Technology of the Big Spaceship, commented on how your company works and has demonstrated some very interesting projects in which the developer program so even in the latest stage of the project, first you need to buy a machine to smoke.

The second lecture was the Daniel Morena Creative Director of the Agency 32 Bits, about 1.0 Enhanced Reality, that really surprised me, systems showed he made a few years with the Flash Platform using multitouch when not imagined that. I could personally give my congratulations to Daniel Morena.

Second day
O segundo dia se iniciou com a palestra do Sam Rivello, CEO of RMC, biology compared with programming, demonstrated in a simple and objective simulation of biological behavior in programming in Flex 4.

The second lecture was that of Igor Costa, and relaxed and animated, it showed 40 differences considered significant change between Flex 3 and Flex 4.

Tiago Venegas began his lecture by explaining what's new in Flash Media Server 3.5, demonstrated vorttice, a tool conference that owes nothing to the Adobe Connect, also shown as is done dynamic stream.

Next, Lee explained some news about Flash Player 10.1 and created an example using the Adobe Flash CS5 exporting directly to a native application for IPhone.

The presentation of Cássio Souza began with a story about how the way you work in, then explained design pattern State Machine. You may have used State Machine and did not know.

Daniel Dura told the story of the multitouch and demonstrated how it can be worked in Flash Platform.

The talk of closure of the event was dedicated to the Beck Novaes about OutBox, and in my opinion, was closed on a high note, was simply fantastic, I think one of the best speeches of the event.

This was a summary on how fast it was my adventure in Flash Camp Brasil and the ultimate feeling is that it was very worthwhile, Maceió was perfect for the event and a cry marked the Flash Camp Brasil: "sa porra!!!".

Adobe AIR allows you to customize the windows of their applications, by default, Adobe AIR uses the layout of the windows operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux), in Flex you have the option of using FlexChrome(especially that i am not very fan).
Show a simple example using Adobe Flex, Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 and Adobe Flash CS4.

if you're new to Adobe AIR, i recommend you look this article before proceeding with the tutorial ;)


Adobe Flex

In Flex Builder, create a project of type "Desktop application", by default it will create two files, one .mxml and one .xml responsible for the application settings.
The .xml file, change the follwing tags: systemChrome e transparent.
The final file should be as follows::

We configure our application to not use the Windows style operating system which is transparent. If run the application, we see that window appears pattern Flex (FlexChrome). However it is not what we want yet.

Adobe Flash CS4 or CS3

To create application in Adobe AIR with Adobe Flash CS3, you need to upgrade. Visit Adobe AIR Update for Flash CS3 Professional. Adobe Flash CS4 comes with native support for building applications on Adobe AIR.

Create a new file type "Flash File(Adobe AIR)" and add three components of the type "Button" on stage. They are respectively the buttons to minimize, maximize, restore and close. The first time you compile the FLA, it create one file .xml of your application. To configure it, just go to File->AIR Settings...
Edit the information to your preferences, do not forget to check the option Window Chrome as "Custom Chrome(transparent)", its configuration file should look something like the following:

Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 or CS3

To use the Adobe AIR with HTML/Ajax, i will use Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, but nothing prevents you from using your editor and compile using the Adobe AIR SDK.
With Dreamweaver is possible to have access to API code hints specifies Adobe AIR for JavaScript, simply install the folowing extensions:

In the item "Site" Dreamweaver will appear two new options (Create AIR File and AIR Application Settings). Create a new HTML document and the Files windows, next to Site->AIR Application Settings. Complete the required information, you will have create one file .xml with the settings of your application, its content should be as below:

The ActionScript 3.0 defines diverse types of generally used data. A type of data defines a type of value. An variable that is attributed a type of data can only arrest a value inside of this type of values. All the values in ActionScript 3.0, primitive or complexes, are objects. Primitive values are: Boolean, int, void, Number, String, uint and undefined. Complex values are: Array, Dates, Error, Function, RegExp, XML, and XMLList.

Boolean data type

The Boolean data type comprises two values: true and false. No other values are valid for variables of Boolean type. The default value of a Boolean variable that has been declared but not initialized is false.
int data type

The int data type is stored internally as a 32-bit integer and comprises the set of integers from
-2,147,483,648 (-231) to 2,147,483,647 (231 - 1), inclusive. Previous versions of ActionScript offered only the Number data type, which was used for both integers and floating point numbers. In ActionScript 3.0, you now have access to low-level machine types for 32-bit signed and unsigned integers. If your variable will not use floating point numbers, using the int data type instead of the Number data type should be faster and more efficient.

For integer values outside the range of the minimum and maximum int values, use the Number data type, which can handle values between positive and negative 9,007,199,254,740,992 (53-bit integer values). The default value for variables that are of the data type int is 0.

Null data type

The Null data type contains only one value, null. This is the default value for the String data type and all classes that define complex data types, including the Object class. None of the other primitive data types, such as Boolean, Number, int and uint, contain the value null. Flash Player will convert the value null to the appropriate default value if you attempt to assign null to variables of type Boolean, Number, int, or uint. You cannot use this data type as a type annotation.

Number data type

In ActionScript 3.0, the Number data type can represent integers, unsigned integers, and floating point numbers. However, to maximize performance, you should use the Number data type only for integer values larger than the 32-bit int and uint types can store or for floating point numbers. To store a floating point number, include a decimal point in the number. If you omit a decimal point, the number will be stored as an integer.

The Number data type uses the 64-bit double-precision format as specified by the IEEE Standard for Binary Floating-Point Arithmetic (IEEE-754). This standard dictates how floating point numbers are stored using the 64 available bits. One bit is used to designate whether the number is positive or negative. Eleven bits are used for the exponent, which is stored as base 2. The remaining 52 bits are used to store the significand (also called the mantissa), which is the number that is raised to the power indicated by the exponent.

By using some of its bits to store an exponent, the Number data type can store floating point numbers significantly larger than if it used all of its bits for the significand. For example, if the Number data type used all 64 bits to store the significand, it could store a number as large as 264. By using 11 bits to store an exponent, the Number data type can raise its significand to a power of 21023.

The maximum and minimum values that the Number type can represent are stored in static properties of the Number class called Number.MAX_VALUE and Number.MIN_VALUE.

Although this range of numbers is enormous, the cost of this range is precision. The Number data type uses 52 bits to store the significand, with the result that numbers that require more than 52 bits to represent precisely, such as the fraction 1/3, are only approximations. If your application requires absolute precision with decimal numbers, you need to use software that implements decimal floating point arithmetic as opposed to binary floating point arithmetic.

Flash Player uses the NaN value not only as the default value for variables of type Number, but also as the result of any operation that should return a number but does not. For example, if you attempt to calculate the square root of a negative number, the result will be NaN. Other special Number values include positive infinity and negative infinity.

NOTE
The result of division by 0 is only NaN if the divisor is also 0. Division by 0 produces infinity when the dividend is positive or -infinity when the dividend is negative.

String data type

The String data type represents a sequence of 16-bit characters. Strings are stored internally as Unicode characters, using the UTF-16 format. Strings are immutable values, just as they are in the Java programming language. An operation on a String value returns a new instance of the string. The default value for a variable declared with the String data type is null. The value null is not the same as the empty string (""), even though they both represent the absence of any characters.

The uint data type is stored internally as a 32-bit unsigned integer and comprises the set of integers from 0 to 4,294,967,295 (232-1), inclusive. Use the uint data type for special circumstances that call for non-negative integers. For example, you must use the uint data type to represent pixel color values because the int data type has an internal sign bit that is not appropriate for handling color values. For integer values larger than the maximum uint value, use the Number data type, which can handle 53-bit integer values. The default value for variables that are of data type uint is 0.

void data type

The void data type contains only one value, undefined. In previous versions of ActionScript, undefined was the default value for instances of the Object class. In ActionScript 3.0, the default value for Object instances is null. If you attempt to assign the value undefined to an instance of the Object class, Flash Player will convert the value to null. You can only assign a value of undefined to variables that are untyped. Untyped variables are variables that either lack any type annotation, or use the asterisk (*) symbol for type annotation. You can use void only as a return type annotation.

Object data type

The Object data type is defined by the Object class. The Object class serves as the base class for all class definitions in ActionScript. The ActionScript 3.0 version of the Object data type differs from that of previous versions in three ways. First, the Object data type is no longer the default data type assigned to variables with no type annotation. Second, the Object data type no longer includes the value undefined, which used to be the default value of Object instances. Third, in ActionScript 3.0, the default value for instances of the Object class is null.

In previous versions of ActionScript, a variable with no type annotation was automatically assigned the Object data type. This is no longer true in ActionScript 3.0, which now includes the idea of a truly untyped variable. Variables with no type annotation are now considered untyped. If you prefer to make it clear to readers of your code that your intention is to leave a variable untyped, you can use the new asterisk (*) symbol for the type annotation, which is equivalent to omitting a type annotation. The following example shows two equivalent statements, both of which declare an untyped variable x:

Regular expression is a method that uses some characters with meaning special to specify a text standard, that is, a standard of characters, especially formatted, that allows to inside locate and to recognize a stretch of text of another one (that is, it recognizes one inside string of another one ).
Basically, a set of characters is defined, a sequence for them and the position where it desires finds them . So, you can create rules to validate e-mails in forms, to confer telephones, to identify strange names and much more . The support the regular expressions (also known as regexp, regex and ER) can be found in programs as sed, awk and grep, in publishers of text as vi and emacs, and in programming languages as C, Perl, java, python, php etc . To understand as this technology functions and places it in practical is not something simple.

In Action Script 3.0 the new RegExp Class was implemented, in the classr is used the method exec to execute the search of the regular expression, returning if it is a valid email or not.

Sockets used ones and known are of the most powerful tools of programming for Internet and little used. He is possivel that software talks between itself being in different machines. For example serving Web as the apache is in a machine while the server of data base is in another one. The exchange of information between the machines are made through a communication protocol, in the case of the Internet, the TCP/IP. The Apache machine, twirling, for example the PHP, can be connected in the BD and carry through consults or modify data. The exchange of information in the net is organized by the TCP/IP, but, before the data being changed, it is necessary to create the communication channel between the machines. This is possivel using Sockets. Practically all the programming languages of the present time have support and use sockets. In summary, one programs can receive and transmit messages in TCP/IP opening one socket, and later writing and reading given through socket open. Sockets allows that the communication between processes is independent of its physical localization and the particular characteristics of the used media, that is, does not depend on software, but yes of the used protocol (normally protocols TCP/IP). In summary, socket is a species of “programming function�? that allows to open connections to other computers of the net so that given messages or data are changed between the machines by means of a communication protocol.
ActionScript 3,0 brought amongst the new class, the class flash.net.Socket, that is, now the Flash can be connected to other devices saw sockets.
