The SharedObject Remote can be used in two ways in conjunction with Adobe Flash Media Server.

• Only the client side, via the Flash Player/AIR
• Together with ActionScript Communication, server-side programmgin in Flash Media Server

Consider the first case:

If you have no knowledge to use the language of the Server-side Flash Media Server, you can use the SharedObject Remote only by ActionScript 3.0. Let's sharedBall a classic example, where the goal is to share the positions of the ball to update the other clients connected to the same instance.

• Go to the installation directory of the Flash Media Server and browse to the folder "applications", there create a directory called "sharedBall" inside a file called "main.asc"
• Open main.asc in your text editor or preferably by the Flash and enter: trace ("sharedBall ...");
• Let's test this file, open the Flash Media Server console, usually located in the installation directory / webrrot / swfs. You can open the browser or the swf directly.
• Click the "View Applications" and then search for the name "sharedBall" in the combobox at the very bottom left corner where it says "New Instance ..."

Let's make a first example of a simple player with OSMF in the coming articles, we add more features.
Create a project type ActionScript Project in Flash Builder or a new class ActionScript 3.0 in Flash Professional CS5. We will give the name "MyPlayerOSMF" extending the Sprite class

• MediaPlayer - It is the engine of your player. This class roughly corresponds to a current media player. It has methods and properties to control interface user actions such as play, pause, seek, and stop.
• MediaElement - Media such as video, audio, image, text and so on. This class represents nothing and everything one can touch MediaPlayer.
• MediaFactory - converts an url to object so it can be played by the player. The class DefaultMediaFactory instantiates objects of the correct type MediaElement particular video, audio, image or other supported media types as input.
• MediaPlayerSprite - Provides MediaContainer instances of the class, class and class MediaPlayer DefeaultMediaFactory. The class MediaPlayerSprite provides the easiest way to create a media player with OSMF.

Let some url's to load videos using progressive downloading and streaming.

Inverse kinematics (IK) is a method of animation that consists of movement of an object or a set of objects in relation to other objects, using an articulated structure of bones. The bones allow the handling of complex and natural way possible to create character animation, such as arms, legs and facial expressions much more easily, the simplest image illustrates this is the movement of a lever.

Now let's see an example using Adobe Flash Professional CS5 will be pretty simple to understand the workings of this tool.

• Create a new file type ActionScript 3.0
• Create three graphic symbols in a rectangular shape so that the effect is better visualized. Let them side by side forming a row.

Adobe Flex

In Flex Builder, create a project of type "Desktop application", by default it will create two files, one .mxml and one .xml responsible for the application settings.
The .xml file, change the follwing tags: systemChrome e transparent.
The final file should be as follows::

We configure our application to not use the Windows style operating system which is transparent. If run the application, we see that window appears pattern Flex (FlexChrome). However it is not what we want yet.
In the file .mxml, in WindowedApplication tag, we set the showFlexChrome property to false.

If we run again, we see that standard window of Flex also disappeared. Now create the rest of the application.
Add a component Canvas, size of your choice, and add three components of type "Button" on stage, important to remember to put a background color of Canvas for your application to be seen.

Now let's add the actions to minimize, maximize, restore and close the application. For this we have access to own API for Adobe AIR windows. Note that to mazimize and restore, we use a flag to see if the window is maximized or not.

Adobe Flash CS4 or CS3

To create application in Adobe AIR with Adobe Flash CS3, you need to upgrade. Visit Adobe AIR Update for Flash CS3 Professional. Adobe Flash CS4 comes with native support for building applications on Adobe AIR.

Create a new file type "Flash File(Adobe AIR)" and add three components of the type "Button" on stage. They are respectively the buttons to minimize, maximize, restore and close. The first time you compile the FLA, it create one file .xml of your application. To configure it, just go to File->AIR Settings...
Edit the information to your preferences, do not forget to check the option Window Chrome as "Custom Chrome(transparent)", its configuration file should look something like the following:

I created a movieclip blue with the name of instance "mc_chrome" to be a background application.

To use the Adobe AIR with HTML/Ajax, i will use Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, but nothing prevents you from using your editor and compile using the Adobe AIR SDK.
