The Adobe® Flash® Platform runtimes, Adobe Flash Player and Adobe AIR®, together enable businesses to efficiently deliver rich customer experiences across multiple digital touch points. With Flash Player and AIR, content can easily and consistently move between the browser, standalone applications and native operating systems to reach users on the devices of their choice. Since the Adobe runtimes share a common codebase, developers can reuse code to deploy game console quality 2D and 3D games, rich media applications with premium high definition video and scalable date driven applications though both AIR and Flash Player.

I have received many requests related to the person seeking the release of Flash Player for Nokia E5, 5235, E63 …. To help point out the Flash Lite 4 Nokia site that has the model of the Nokia device and version of the Flash Player (Flash Lite) compatible.
It is important to understand the difference between the desktop Flash Lite and Flash Player. Flash Lite is a customized version of the Flash Player to run on mobile devices, but does not have all the features of the player for desktop. Many sites and applications you use on the web, not able to use the phone, by limitations of the device and player.

Below is a list of versions of Flash Player and Flash Lite equivalent. A lot of attention because it is equivalent is different from equal.

Macromedia Flash Lite 1.0 based on Flash Player 4

Macromedia Flash Lite 1.1

Macromedia Flash Lite 2.0 (December 2005) released in 2005, which brought its capabilities in line with Flash Player 7

Adobe Flash Lite 2.1 (December 2006) running on the BREW platform

Adobe Flash Lite 3 (Announced on February 2007) support for FLV transcoding, equivalent to desktop Flash Player 8

Adobe Flash Lite 3.1 (February 2009) player turbocharged with some features of Flash Player 9

Adobe Flash Lite 4 has been released (2010) and integrated in Symbian^3, has ActionScript 3.0 support, equivalent to desktop Flash Player 10

Flash physics engine

Adobe Flash offers a huge range of possibilities for game development and more recently with the Stage3D of Flash Player (codenamed Molehill), this has only increased and much freedom developers. Stage3D lets you create games to run in the browser(or Adobe AIR) with the quality of games we see on consoles like the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
For some games it is essential to have a physical simulation (gravity, action and reaction, collisions, etc.), so-called physics engines, which are well known by staff who have already developed on other platforms for specific games. Some physics engines for Adobe Flash are:

Box2DFlash — This Flash physics engine is based on the widely recognized Box2D engine from C++.

Glaze — This one is based on the Chipmunk engine from C++. Beyond physics, this library also features scene management, line of sight, user input, scrolling, and AI.

In the Adobe documentation, it is recommended to use AMFPHP or pure PHP, but this integration can be used seamlessly together with ZendFramework (using ZendAMF)
Ryan Stewart wrote two articles that show how this implementation with PHP and REST.

The App Store (online store where applications are available from Apple) has paid over 2 billion U.S. dollars to the developers and the arrival of the iPad, this number is expected to grow much. So if you want to enter this niche market, you need to know what you need to build their applications to run on Apple's mobile operating system, iOS (before the arrival of the iPad, was simply iPhone OS), which run the iPhone and iPad, so getting started with Adobe AIR for iOS.

Before you begin, we need some clarification as to how your application will work done with Adobe AIR running on the iOS. You will only be able to create applications with Adobe AIR, it is not possible to create applications that run in the browser with Flash Player.

You will only be able to create applications with Adobe AIR, it is not possible to create applications that run in the browser with Flash Player.

No Flash Player on iOS =õ(

With the Adobe AIR runtime, we have the same problem, it is not possible to install Adobe AIR runtime from the way we used to do on the desktop or Android.
What Adobe has done is create a tool using the Low Level Virtual Machine(LLVM) that lets you convert your application done in an Adobe AIR application for native iOS. Adobe has changed the way through to build your application could run in iOS. The mode JIT (Just in Time) for the AOT (Ahead-of-Time) allowing its application on Adobe AIR could be converted to a native application iOS.

LLVM is a modular, flexible compiler system that is widely used in a variety of projects. The main reason that Adobe chose LLVM is its flexibility and applicability to the development of iOS. LLVM is already used in the project Alchemy (Alchemy = C/C++ with ActionScript 3.0).

iOS applications created with Flash are supported on iOS 3.0 and higher.

Development Tools
Adobe Flash CS5 Professional – You can from Adobe Flash CS5 (with the Packager for iPhone installed), create your applications to the iOS (iPhone/iPad), we have a new profile called "AIR for iOS", generating the file already with the size standard 320×480. So far there are no pre-programmed components to iOS and is not recommended to use the existing ones in Flash.

Adobe Flash Builder 4 (burrito) – Adobe has provided along with the Flash Builder 4 (burrito), the Flex SDK version 4.5, with components optimized for mobile devices, however, these components are still being optimized to run on iOS and will be available in a future version of Flash Builder, but you can create a project ActionScript (ActionScript 3.0 only without using the Flex SDK) and use the command line compiler (ADT).

Any text editor – You can use any text editor, saving the extension .as or to your favorite ActionScript editor.

Distribution
You can create the installer for your application by Flash Builder (future versions), Flash CS5(with the Packager for iPhone installed) or by command line using the ADT. It generated an application with the extension .ipa. The distribution can be made through the App Store, to become a publisher of the App Store, just pay the subscription of $ 99. Watch this tutorial how to publish your application on the App Store.

Follow some tutorials:

UPDATE
Now we have Flash Builder 4.5.1 with support for iOS, visit the blog of Holly Schinsky (Aka Devgirl) for complete details.

Moreover Android is becoming increasingly more popular, various devices emerge every day more and more powerful running the operating system by Google and Android Market has been redesigned to facilitate the users and developers. An important detail is thatare not all versions of Android that support Adobe AIR and Flash Player, you need to have the smartphone Android 2.2 (Froyo) or later, and versions of AIR should be 2.5 or Flash Player 10.1.

Developing applications with the Flash Platform for Android is only possible from the Android 2.2 (Froyo) and using Adobe AIR 2.5 and Flash Player 10.1

Development tools

AIR for Android

Adobe Flash CS5 Professional - It is possible to develop applications for Android using Adobe Flash Professional CS5, in the last version was added a profile "AIR for Android" already generating the file with the default size of 480x800. So far there are no pre-programmed components and Android is not recommended to use the existing ones in Flash.

Adobe Flash Builder 4 (burrito) - Adobe released with Flash Builder 4 (burrito), the Flex SDK version 4.5, with components optimized for mobile devices, for those who remember, Adobe had a project of a mobile version of Flex to call "Slider", because of the rapid growth of processing the current smartphones, Adobe decided to join this project to the standard Flex SDK.

Any text editor - You can use any text editor, saving the extension .as or to your favorite ActionScript editor.

Runtime Adobe AIR
To have your application run on a device with Android, it is necessary that you install Adobe AIR runtime to then you install your application.

Distribution
You can run the installer of your application by Flash Builder, Flash CS5 or by command line using the ADT. It generated an application with the extension .apk. The distribution can be made through the Android Market to become a publisher of Android Market, simply pay the $ 25 enrollment.
Watch this tutorial how to publish your application on Android Market
If you create something to run in Flash Player, simply turn the browser on your smartphone, Adobe has a page so you can see some sites that use Flash Player, and have been optimized for mobile. Access Adobe Flash Showcase for Mobile

Adobe AIR came to fill a gap that would be necessary sooner or later, have a Flash application running on the desktop regardless of browser. This gave a new direction for RIA applications, you now also have the possibility to have that your preferred site as a desktop application, or much better and more personalized service without the limitations of a web browser, or a better user experience(UX).

A History of Adobe AIR

Macromedia Central

Let's remember that Adobe AIR was not the first attempt to take your Adobe Flash in desktop applications, many may not remember, but in mid-2003 the then Macromedia has released a software called Macromedia Central, a software that was designed to run your Flash applications on the desktop without browser.
Macromedia Central did not have much acceptance among developers and users, I believe that one reason is that their distribution model does not attract developers and that you had to pay to deliver their application. Another reason may be that the market was not ready for his concept, something that happened to Adobe Photoshop, say Charles Geschke(co-founder of Adobe) in an interview with Jessica Livingston in the book Founders at Work: Stories of Startups' Early Days (recommend, great read ), "Adobe Photoshop was released one year before the market is prepared for it".

In mid-2003 the then Macromedia has released a software called Macromedia Central, a software that was designed to run your Flash applications on the desktop without browser.

Following the acquisition of Macromedia by Adobe, turned to talk about this software to run RIAs on the desktop environment, some people of the team at Macromedia and others in the Adobe team joined, headed by Kevin Lynch and Ed Rowe. Born a new project code-named Apollo that it would lead to Adobe AIR.
Macromedia Central 1.0 and 1.5 were the code names of Mercury and Gemini, Adobe AIR was codenamed Apollo. Recalling that the Apollo project was the first space mission that actually reached the Moon .
Launching in 2006 under the name AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime) with your logo inspired by a boomerang represents the possibility of development with Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex and HTML / JavaScript (or Ajax) and is gaining more supporters every day and conquering your space. Adobe listening to the community, did his homework adding to the extent possible, new features to Adobe AIR 2.0.

The major banks have already realized this and most already have a version of its Internet banking to mobile devices, including to perform operations that you normally do on the site to pay bills, view balances etc..
Adobe Device Central software is a part of Adobe Creative Suite family that aims to emulate the operation of mobile devices on your desktop. It is mainly used to test the functionality of Flash Lite on smartphones. But it can also be used to test your html pages and simulate the operation of any mobile device.

To open a page or site in Adobe Device Central CS5, just follow these steps:

After opening the program, go to "Device Profiles" and click "Browse Devices". A list of profiles of models of smartphones, select a few for your tests (right-click and ask for the "Add to Test Devices")

Should see the selected device and its technical specification. Now just go to "File-> Open File ..." to open a file or "File-> Open URL ..." to open a site directly. In my case, ask to open the url of my blog on Nokia 5230:

Adobe Device Central CS5

You also have the option to call the Adobe Device Central Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 directly by, just ask "File-> Preview in Browser-> Device Central".
On my blog, I use the plugin WordPress Mobile Edition which formats the blog to be accessed on mobile devices.

Adobe Device Central is included in the following Creative Suite 5 products:

Inverse Kinematics (IK) is a technique widely used in engineering, robotics and animation. It consists of the movement of an object or a set of objects in relation to other objects, using an articulated structure of bones. The bones allow the handling of complex and natural way possible to create character animation, such as arms, legs and facial expressions much more easily, the simplest image illustrates this is the movement of a lever. Anyone who has worked with 3D modeling software such as 3D Studio MAX already familiar with this technique. From Adobe Flash CS4, we have the opportunity to work with inverse kinematics in Flash IDE itself and a library in ActionScript 3.0.

Inverse kinematics (IK) is a method of animation that consists of movement of an object or a set of objects in relation to other objects, using an articulated structure of bones. The bones allow the handling of complex and natural way possible to create character animation, such as arms, legs and facial expressions much more easily, the simplest image illustrates this is the movement of a lever.

Now let's see an example using Adobe Flash Professional CS5 will be pretty simple to understand the workings of this tool.

Create a new file type ActionScript 3.0

Create three graphic symbols in a rectangular shape so that the effect is better visualized. Let them side by side forming a row.

Select Bone tool

Click the first symbol of pure and drag until the end of it. Will be formed with a bone on its own biggest one being the base.

Do the same with the second symbol in order to start dragging from its own smaller bone of the first symbol.

Your stage should look like this:

IK Adobe Flash

Note that a new layer was created with the name of armature. Select frame 20 for example, right-click on the frame and select "Insert pose". This done, move in any way the symbols on the stage. Do the same for frame 40 and 60.

Now test the movie "Ctrl+Enter".

Adobe Flash has revolutionized the distribution of video content on the web, we have the Adobe Flash Media Server that helped with this by giving the possibility to distribute content via streaming, including the option to use encryption and features DRM (Digital Rights Management).

Adobe Flash has revolutionized the distribution of video content on the web, we have the Adobe Flash Media Server that helped with this by giving the possibility to distribute content via streaming, including the option to use encryption and features DRM (Digital Rights Management).

O Adobe Flash Media Server 3.5 and Flash Player 10 brings some novelties, among them the possibility to use the Dynamic streaming for content distribution.
Imagine the following scenario, you use a 3G internet limited(my case ), glad you're watching a video and notes of nothing, the video begins to catch, and you've used all your available bandwidth and now can only use the minimum that the carrier provides. Another scenario is that the same video can be viewed both via the desktop or any mobile device such as smartphones, which have limited memory, processing power and smaller screen. Flash Media Server can depending on network conditions and client resources, exchange content (audio, video or both) with one that better fits the current conditions of the customer, thus guaranteeing the QoS (Quality of Service).

Dynamic Streaming helps ensure the QoS(Quality of Service)

Adobe recommends that you use dynamic streaming when you find the following criteria:

Video with long duration.

<liVideo with large file size.

HD video.

Video with larger dimensions, such as full screen video.

Content distributed to users who are more susceptible to bandwidth issues, such as home users, rather than corporate users

QoS - Quality of Service - refers to resource reservation control mechanisms rather than the achieved service quality. Source: Wikipedia.

See in detail the use of dynamic streaming in Adobe's documentation.
You developer who likes to keep up, you know exactly what I'm talking about. In this article I gathered some links that those who want to start with mobile development in at least three different platform in which I had lately demands.

The mobile market is one of the fastest growing lately, and with it the demand for applications for this growing niche also bringing one more option for anyone who is a developer and new business opportunities

Among the platforms available for mobile development, we can highlight:

Java with JME

Nokia Qt, besides being able to use WRT(Web RunTime)

Flash Lite

Android SDK from Google with the addition of Adobe AIR and Flash Player 10.1

IPhone

'll Comment a little bit of each:

Java with JME
JME (Java Micro Edition) is the version that Sun offers for you to program in Java for mobile devices. It offers an enormous range of API's that were made specifically. Has a very complete documentation and several examples. I leave a link how to set up your environment for development JME.

Nokia Qt
Nokia offers Qt, Cross-plaftorm application and UI framework, with specific libraries for mobile devices (such as QTMobility). You program in C++ and there is an interface language like MXML. Has its own IDE and has emulators for Symbian S60, 40 and Symbian^3 beyond Maemo and Meego.

Adobe Flash Lite
Adobe Flash Lite still has space on the market, with a different version of the Flash player with some features specific to mobile devices. The development environment is to own Adobe Flash Professional and Adobe Device Central.

Google Android
Google offers for the Android platform a set of SDK's and emulators for the different versions of its operating system with each passing day it becomes more popular. It has a plugin for you to program in Eclipse, the Android Development Tools(ADT). The language used is Java. From Android 2.2 (Froyo) you have the option to create applications in Adobe AIR, the AIR runtime is installed on the device and you create the application using Adobe Flash Professional (which has an extension to create the files .apk) or Adobe Flash Builder.

Apple IPhone
Who wants to program for iPhone, ipad and the like, Apple provides an SDK. You use the Objective-C language, derived from C, and some interesting libraries developed for working with muiltitouch like Cocoa. We'll find a list of frameworks.

Well, we have options, it behooves us to analyze only that can best serve our customers. Should stay something about Windows Phone 7 because it seems to me very promising and deserves attention too.

One of the questions you do lately is the possible death of Flash Lite. We have the Flash Player 10.1 optimized for mobile and Adobe AIR 2.5 for Android, and with that Flash Lite would be in their final days.
I've read articles that argued that Adobe did not know that capitalize on the success that Macromedia has with Flash Lite in Japan and began to give priority for mobile systems only now. This can be a little truth, but Adobe does not mess around, now this with full force for a variety of devices, not only mobile.
Now our question which gave title to the article, along with Flash Player 10.1, Adobe released Flash Lite 4.0 also, being a version of Flash Player for devices with limited processing resources and memory but with support for ActionScript 3.0. See the list of features available here.
For one thing, each day brings more smartphones come with Android 2.2 (Froyo), which officially supports the Flash Player 10.1 and Adobe AIR 2.5. Also, we're seeing with Android smartphones (earlier) being updated with Froyo. That is, based on Flash contents tends to grow with these major smartphones. On the other hand so far, have only a smartphone officially announced with Flash Lite 4.0, the Nokia N8 and possibly Nokia C7, the question remains, still worthwhile to develop content for Flash Lite?
And my answer is YES, even for Flash Lite 3.0 or 3.1(ActionScript 2.0) especially for Nokia devices and why I say this. Let's see some facts:

Nokia is still world leader on mobile devices and how it has always been an innovator(was the first to put an internal antenna), not let that lead get away so easy

The operating system Symbian is still the most used for mobile systems, and Nokia betting on Symbian will continue with the Meego(Linux-based)

We have an extensive list of phones Nokia that has Flash Lite 2.0 or 3.0 , about 400 million around the world, many now arriving in Brazil

Sony and Samsung also has a good range of handsets with Flash Lite

Is starting to grow the number of applications in Portuguese on OVI Store, highlight for MTV Ao Vivo, the Terra TV and VEJA São Paulo

Nokia has created a library especially to increase the capabilities of Flash Lite

Adobe Device Central CS5 offers a fairly complete for you to test your application in various mobile devices

Nokia and Adobe were the first to contribute to the project Open Screen Project - one content, several devices

So in conclusion, is a market for development and yet it is worth studying (and remember) Actionscript 2.0. I believe that we will have two or three years of life for Flash Lite.

This business model has become a fad in the world, you provide your application through a large company, we have examples such as Apple's App Store, Nokia with Ovi Store, Google Android Market. The advantages are many and generate greater confidence for the user and off course that Adobe could not be left out.
Previously called Shibuya, now Adobe Melrose seeks to offer basically three types of services for those who develop applications on Adobe AIR:

Try and Buy - When you are developing your AIR application, you simply embed the licensing SWC in your application, enter a few lines of code and specify the price and trial periods online.

Monetize -When end user customers purchase your application, the Melrose service keeps track of the income from each of your applications. You get paid at a regular interval, typically once a month.

View analytics - Reports are available online via the Adobe Developer Connection site. In this initial release you'll be able to view reporting information regarding revenue, active trials, expired trials and downloads. This information is available for everywhere you use Melrose-not just for downloads from the Adobe AIR Marketplace.
